Chatter Creek Merlot Label

2010 was one of the coolest vintages on record in Washington, and a year that tested my patience. Fortunately, a warmer September and October allowed grapes to ripen to maturity. Terroir driven, this is an elegant Merlot from the Lonesome Spring Ranch and Portteus vineyards.

This wine shows dark ruby. The bright nose is intertwined with a complex mix of black cherry, with hints of vanilla, and blackberry. A medley of flavors, including bright red cherry, and blueberry, give way to savory spice notes which round out the mid-palette. Fruity, with a good mouth feel, this is a medium-bodied wine, well-balanced and even, with smooth tannins. A lingering finish leaves you both satisfied and ready for more.
