The prevailing wisdom would indicate that heat of the 2015 vintage would create lack luster white wine.
Actually that turned out to be wrong. All of the white wines made at Chatter Creek remain crisp and clean. And all display very assertive varietal character.
I barrel fermented the Sauvignon Blanc this year. I didn’t make much so the few extra Chardonnay barrels I had were put to good use. I feel this really helped fatten up the mid palate and add some wonderful layering of flavors. The nose is strong fruity and floral, with hints grass and citrus fruits. The flavors are assertive and center around melon, grapefruit rind and lime. The mouth feel tight but not in a bracing way. The finish is clean and lingers a long time. 75 cases produced.
